Not too late...

Take a look around and see if your spaces could do with some new art work to freshen things up. Every year at this time, I open the Studio to a limited number of Commissions acheving delivery by mid-December, so consider your own unique art work, such as an elegant charcoal portrait of a loved one, and email me to start the conversation.

It feels like there is so much to look forward to with Winter done and dusted, so I'm celebrating by writing my 'end of August' Blog post in Spring! Yes, the belated August post, made it past those ferocious, wild-wind storms that Melbourne had to close-out our Winter '24, and this is being written to share with you today, from the crisp sunshine of this 10th day of September - Hooray!

Such bad August weather resulted in my time being full of chances to hold-up inside and paint, draw, learn and make patterns. The YSH Studio has been a lively space with lots of producing, new works being lovingly made. Four of the paintings are my new botanicals ready now to share in the world. I made these whilst taking time out immersed in the work I do, taking my artist retreat time in cozy little 'Leila at Malmsbury', (our miners' cottage, Airbnb #Leila_at_Malmsbury).

Whilst taking in the region I met wonderful artisans from the Macedon Ranges, Hepburn, Mt Alexander and then back in the Mornington Peninsula Shires, sharing wall paper making enthusiasms - see the yshstudio YveY shop in Spoonflower for those - and all things paint, sketch-booking, drawing, printmaking, styling and photography... and all of this is fuelling September's art works now that I'm back in the Frankston South home of YSh Studio.

A recent artist residency, teaching painting in the 'Art at Ate' series - Mt Eliza Shop Ate Cafe a collaboration with cafe owner, Amanda Brandon - has been truly lovely. Those who booked enjoyed a fun tutorial at their own table complete with a fully kitted out easel, and supplied with progressive samples of delicious canapes and drinks amidst one anothers company and all in the vibing, ambiant cafe all to ourselves, after hours. It's set to happen again soon - check the cafe website, #yshstudio or #shopate_mteliza for more Wednesday evening 'Art at Ate' dates.

So that was August, fine arts painting, patterns, arts retreat, cafe art residency fun and making space in the calendar to collaborate, unique, commission art works.

I'll be back here soon with another update from the Studio for you so until then, take care, big wishes,
